Carolyn R. towels, assistant professor of English and Director of Writing a freshman at Liberty University, was elected President of the General Education English. In this position she will oversee all 100 – and 200-level English classes as a whole, including the ability to plan and coordinate course content

Towles was an important part of our organization, said Dr. Emily Heady dean of the School of General Studies. She has already contributed enormously and this promotion recognizes his past accomplishments and potential for future work of the university and the School of General Studies.
Towles, who earned his master’s degree in education with an emphasis on English Lynchburg College, has conducted a doctorate in literature and criticism at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Originally from Weatherford, Texas, came to Liberty in 1991 to work. She and her husband David, also a professor of Liberty, have three children and nine grandchildren.
